In terms of sheer raw emotion, "Song Left Unsung" is the most emotional song on this album—and that's saying something. I wrote it weeks after an amazing relationship ended, in the throes of crying what felt like an endless ocean of tears. 

My partner had moved overseas to start a program he'd applied for before we'd moved in together, that would launch his career. It was hard to let go of him because our time together had been so magical and perfect: 

Why are you leaving, Love? 
With our song still left unsung 
My heart is bleeding, Love 
As you chase adventures far-flung 

This song is for anyone who's ever been in a relationship that ended not because you stopped loving each other, but because external circumstances pulled you apart: 

I wasn't done with love 
But love was done with me 

I first experienced this when I was 14, and I don't know if you ever get over those epic loves. Maybe you're not meant to. You get over the relationship ending and you move on, but the love and care you have for the person will always be there—and that's a beautiful thing.
